 Dr. Maw was
born in Rangoon, Burma (now known as
Myanmar in Southeast Asia). She received
her medical degree from the Institute of
Medicine in Rangoon and then completed
her pediatric residency at Cook County
Children’s Hospital Chicago in 1990. She
is certified by the American Board of
Pediatrics and also a Fellow of the
American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Maw has spent over 20 years caring
for infants, children and adolescents.
After her residency, she continued to
work for five more years at Cook County
Children’s Hospital where she was an
Attending Physician in the pediatric
emergency room and ambulatory
department. As an Attending Physician,
she supervised, taught and trained the
pediatric residents as well as diagnosed
and treated all sorts of pediatric
illnesses, from the common and simple to
the rare and complex. She later joined
group practice in the west suburbs.
She was very excited to finally open her
own practice in 2002 in Carpentersville,
IL. Dr. Maw has been married to her
husband Melvin for more than 30 years.
They have two children, Mimi and Branden.
She enjoys reading, swimming, spending
time with family and traveling. |
